Description
This wonderfully designed fly was first tied in 1984 by Dutch Fly Tier Hans van Klinken hence the name. It’s also referred to as the Klinkhåmer Special, Klinkhamer or Klinkhammer. But whatever name you call it, the fly catches fish because of the way the body hangs below the surface imitating an emerging midge or mayfly. It is best used for catching grayling and trout which feed from them as they float in the surface film. This pattern has proven to be an extremely effective fly.
